Orchards have proved both generous in yielding the season's harvest and also an inspiration to artists. Vincent Van Gogh's paintings of olive orchards are among the most famous.
One can still envision the crowds of young and old alike coming to pick the apples. Although its last apple has been plucked, the beauty of life continues to glisten from this orchard even as the days shorten and the warmth of summer past wanes as the calendar advances deeper into autumn.
